Flat Hunting in Central

Struggling a bit with jet lag and staying up far too late due to scary storm I staggered out of bed this morning to pursue a day of vigorous house hunting in downtown Hong Kong! After yesterday's debacle nothing could be as bad.. no i was wrong. If you have seen the episode of "Gavin and Stacey" where they see the flat in Billericay with the kitchen slash bathroom.. this was worse, the toilet cubicle was tiny and you were supposed to somehow straddle the toilet and take a shower in the water closet, Nice! Kylie was mortified and i didn't relish the idea either. we had brought Matt the Head of PE along and he had shown us where he and his girlfriend live in a lovely modern apartment on Hollywood Rd so we were expecting to find something at least nearly similar. we stumbled across a new estate agent and tried our luck and we won! and by 4pm after seeing our 4th apartment we struck gold. Lovely 2 bed place with a separate shower! small kitchen, 2 large bedrooms a living room and a dressing room. Lyndhurst Avenue, which is really central and on the 10th floor so we will be able to see some of the skyline lit up and close up! We went for a celebratory burger with Matt and Holly and tired but content with our discovery we took the ferry back to Lantau, with a beer in hand.
thought i would make the most of the remaining sunshine and I sat on Tai Pak beach and wrote some postcards. As dusk drew in I took the walk up hill back to my digs. Couldn't believe the amount of people out running in this heat. I had a proper bead on just from the walk! Thinking of everyone I know and love and grateful for a successful day.
God bless x
